If the most brilliant scientists were tasked with designing the most difficult environment for a student with ADHD, they would struggle to come up with anything more challenging than a modern classroom. These classrooms, with their six-hour days, demand that students sit still, follow countless instructions, complete monotonous tasks, and navigate complex social situations with minimally trained adults.
Worryingly, the only situation that could potentially worsen ADHD symptoms even further would be a middle or high school, where behavioral expectations are spread across multiple teachers.
